The Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG 'Chicago' 2015 colorway was created as a workaround to avoid Michael Jordan's NBA fines of $5,000 per game after the original black and red colorway was banned. The 'Chicago' version was initially reissued in 1994, staying faithful to the 1985 design. Later iterations were released in 2013 with minor design alterations, and in 2015, the original branding details were restored, including the Nike Air logo on the tongue and the clean heel devoid of the Jumpman logo.
